Kinston is rad.

Turns out Kinston is a pretty freaking rad little town. There are some great bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and hotels within walking distance to Wild Oaths. So if you’re thinking about hosting your perfect wedding day here with us entranced in these spectacular industrial warehouse vibes, you should def put these other great spots on your list as well: [link to map]

1. Mother Earth Motor Lodge: Right across the street from the venue you’ll find an awesome refurbished motor lodge which was restored to its original 1970’s glory just a few years ago by Kinston’s very own Mother Earth Brewing Co.

2. Also directly across the street is a brand new day spa, The Total Experience, which recently opened in 2021. A great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a luxurious facial, massage, or mani/pedi.

3. A Kinston staple for more than 75 years and the locals’ go to breakfast spot, you do not want to miss out on Lovick’s Cafe. If you’re coming over before the wedding, get here early- this place packs it out on Saturday mornings.

4. But first, COFFEE. Hit up Middle Grounds Coffee House for your pre-wedding fix. Please do not underestimate the importance of a solid cup of coffee on the biggest day of your life.

5. How about a nice refreshing locally handcrafted adult beverage before or after ceremony time? Just around the corner is Mother Earth Brewing Co. Pro-tip: Living that gluten-free life? ask for a Sercy gluten-free hard seltzer.

6. Nervous about the wedding? Nothing takes the edge off like a healthy mixture of alcohol and axe-throwing. You heard that right! Check it out at Iron Clad Axe Throwing.

7. Visit Whiskey Pig Craft Butchery and Deli for lunch and/or for all of your various carnivore-based needs. I swear to you this place has the best burger I’ve ever had. Pro-tip: ask them to cater your rehearsal dinner.

8. Originally built as a bank in 1924 and then beautifully converted into seven lux boutique suites in 2015 The O’Neil offers guests an elevated, refined stay within walking distance to the wedding venue and everything else in downtown Kinston.

9. After. Party. If you’re wondering where everyone went after the DJ shut down the wedding reception, check out Pumphouse 1906. Nine times out of ten you’ll find the wedding party here sipping a nightcap.

10. Last but certainly not least: Chef & The Farmer. If you don’t know who award winning chef, restaurateur, author, television host Vivian Howard is then just stop reading this right now and google ‘A Chef’s Life" then binge all 61 episodes and then immediately book your wedding weekend with us here in Kinston. You will not regret.

Anyhow, like I said, Kinston is rad. But don’t just take my word for it come check it out for yourself- get in touch and we’ll be glad to show you around!
